The awardees, through their volunteer work/other work, make the communities of Fairfield and Fairfield Township a better place to live, honor the mission of the Fairfield Community Foundation (working toward the future of Fairfield and Fairfield Township), have demonstrated accomplishments and leadership, and possess traits compelling others to view her as a role model.
The two awards were presented at the Foundation's annual celebration, the Crystal Ball, held on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at the Oscar Event Center in Fairfield. Each honoree received a beautiful glass kaleidoscope piece of artwork, a professional portrait to keep and a donation in their name to the Foundation's Kaleidoscope Woman Scholarship Fund. Liz Bonis Local 12 WKRC-TV emceed the event. Liz personifies the essence of the Kaleidoscope Woman, going beyond herself as an inspirational role model for her community.
The Kaleidoscope Woman Award will be an ongoing event of the Fairfield Community Foundation. Sally Braun, one of the first Kaleidoscope winners (2012), donated one of her handmade quilts to raffle off to benefit the scholarship fund for women wishing to return to school mid-life.
Jeweldene Baker and Judge Joyce Campbell were the other two 2012 recipients of the award begun that year.
